VIDEO: Yoan Moncada Rips Home Run Against Former Team to Give White Sox Early Lead
By James.r

Yoan Moncada is not messing around this season. The former No. 1 prospect in the MLB looks like he's finally put it together, and that can mean only one thing: he's hitting LASERS. That's just what he did Monday night against his former organization to give the White Sox the lead in the early-going.

Well, that got out of there quickly. The Green Monster is no match for Moncada, whose homer off Eduardo Rodriguez left the bat at an estimated 108.8 miles per hour.
Moncada has really figured it out this season, as evidenced by his .298 batting average and 32 extra-base hits. It's probably a little extra gratifying for Moncada to get one off of the team that unloaded him in the mega-deal that brought Chris Sale to the Red Sox.
Happy Monday! Here are the leaders in average exit velocity this season ???

Highest avg exit velocity this season (min 50 batted balls)
Joey Gallo: 96.3 mph
Nelson Cruz: 94.4 mph
Josh Bell: 93.9 mph
Christian Yelich: 93.8 mph
Yoan Moncada: 93.2 mph
Gary Sánchez: 93.2 mph
It's good to see the 24-year-old finally fulfilling the potential he showed as a young prospect; he should be a star on the South Side of Chicago for years to come.
As long as we get to see plenty more bombs like that one, we'll be satisfied.
