VIDEO: Xander Bogaerts Unleashes 2-Run Bomb Over the Green Monster
By Scott Rogust

The Boston Red Sox have already dropped the first two games of their series against the Tampa Bay Rays, and they looked to avoid the sweep on Thursday night. Already down 1-0 in the first, American League MVP candidate Xander Bogaerts gave the Sox the lead thanks to a two-run home run off pitcher Brendan McKay that sailed high over the Green Monster.

That was Bogaerts' 23rd homer of the season, and raises his RBI total to 81 as he continues to chase Mike Trout and teammate Rafael Devers in the AL MVP discussion. Game on in Boston.
