Not only is Mariano Rivera a Hall of Famer and the greatest closer of all-time, but his entrance music and subsequent nickname optimized how dominant he was in the ninth inning. So, it only made sense that when he entered the White House ceremony for the nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, it was to Metallica's "Enter Sandman." And yes, the President came along, too.

I know it's the White House and there's a certain level of decorum, but are we surprised they played heavy metal? Talk about making a guy feel comfortable.

Rivera is the sixth athlete that Trump has awarded this honor to during his time in office, joining Tiger Woods, Bob Cousy, Jerry West, Roger Staubach and fellow Yankee legend Babe Ruth. All of this makes sense.

I may be wrong, but I don't think any one of them had their own entrance song.
