VIDEO: Wanye Rooney Scores Goal of the Season From Past Midfield to Give DC United the Lead

Wayne Rooney's move to DC United surprised some as the then 32-year-old forward's move came when he was a lot younger than most European stars who come to MLS as designated players. Rooney proved he still has plenty left in the tank when he scored the unquestioned goal of the season against a struggling Orlando City. Rooney saw goalie Brian Rowe off of his line, and banged one in from past the midfield line to give DC a 1-0 lead.

The man who scored more goals for England and Manchester United than anyone else in history has kept scoring in America, bagging his 22nd goal in 39 MLS games in spectacular fashion.

While most are applauding the former Red Devils legend and Everton fan-favorite for his tremendous effort, the jaded fans of Orlando can't believe another mental mistake from Rowe cost them a goal.

Some might have wrote off Rooney when he crossed the Atlantic, but he's proving that he's still got a little bit of the magic man who scored 27 goals in one Premier League season left in him.
