VIDEO: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Puts on a Show While Practicing for Home Run Derby
By Parker White

The Home Run Derby features several young sluggers in the game, including Toronto Blue Jays stud Vladimir Guerrero Jr. New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso may be one of the favorites because of what he'd doing in the regular season, but hold the phones. Watch this amazing footage of Vladdy Jr. practicing for the derby:

Of the five swings, the first four were no-doubters. I know the ball doesn't carry in Cleveland like it does in Toronto at the Rogers Centre, but those weren't cheap. Guerrero Jr. was CRUSHING the ball.

The best part of this practice was he wasn't just taking BP and looking to go deep. They put a timer on the scoreboard and everything to set it up like what the derby is going to be like.
Obviously, you don't have a sell-out crowd making noise, which can have an effect, but the setup won't be foreign to the Jays slugger when he puts his power on full display.
