Some of the longest home runs hit this season have an exit velocity in the 110 mph range. That's crushing the baseball. Well, Toronto Blue Jays rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. just hit a ball with an exit velocity of 118.7 mph-- and it was only a single. Check this out and try to reckon with how it's possible.

Did you hear that? I know it didn't go out for a home run, but how did it not knock down or go right through the left field wall? Vladdy Jr. was very impressive during the Home Run Derby, but this might be more of an accomplishment.

Of course, when you look at the Statcast leaderboard, Guerrero Jr. has the second-hardest hit ball this year at 118.9 mph. That one also went for a single.

How is this kid only 20 years old? He's redefining the laws of physics before our very eyes.
