Give these Hokies credit, they're not going quietly into the night despite facing a daunting task at Notre Dame stadium. The Irish have looked as beatable as ever the last few weeks, and their effort against this ACC Coastal opponent is not doing them any favors. Just before the end of the first half, the Fighting Irish had a chance to put a stranglehold on this contest, but an untimely fumble and Virginia Tech return has the Hokies very much alive.

The Hokies are a very quiet 5-2, one win away from bowl eligibility just a year after Justin Fuente's job status was called into question. Give VaTech credit, even if they aren't able to hold on in a tough road environment.
