VIDEO: Virginia Tech Finally Takes Down UNC in Ridiculous 6 Overtime Thriller

The Virginia Tech Hokies and North Carolina Tar Heels just played the first six-overtime game in NCAA Football history, and it was almost as terrible as it was glorious. When the game reached its fifth overtime, the score knotted at 41-41, teams began running plays from the three-yard line, rather than from the 25. Well, it took a couple of tries, but eventually the Hokies were able to squeak into the end zone on a direct snap to Quincy Patterson.

This game will go down as a classic, as it was truly a back-and-forth battle. The team's each scored a field goal in the first overtime, a touchdown in the second, and then were blanked until the Hokies' score in the sixth period of OT.

UNC's Sam Howell threw for five touchdowns and 348 yards, but it wasn't enough to get the Tar Heels over the hump in the additional periods.

The wild finish puts the Hokies at 5-2 on the year, but this win certainly did NOT come easy.
