VIDEO: Tony Romo Says Ezekiel Elliott is Going to Get Paid and Remain a Dallas Cowboy
By Michael Luciano
Just about every Dallas Cowboys fan in the country is waiting with baited breath to see if superstar running back Ezekiel Elliott will either sign a record-breaking new deal, postpone his contract negotiations until next year, or continue holding out. Cowboys fans who believe that Tony Romo's word is gospel can breath a sigh of relief, however, as the former Cowboys quarterback and current No. 1 play-by-play man with CBS is asserting that Zeke will get a new contract and stay in Dallas.
The holdups with Zeke's new deal have never been related to performance, as he's been the best running back in the NFL ever since he entered the league as the No. 4 overall pick out of Ohio State.
The issue is the fact that he's demanding a record-breaking contract at a time when both running backs are being devalued, the CBA is very unkind to his position and the Cowboys need to play Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and their young defensive studs.
If he suits up, however, Cowboys fans should expect a motivated, leaner, hungry Zeke.
While Romo's word will go a long way towards easing tensions around the Cowboys, most won't be totally convinced until they finally see No. 21 back on the practice field.
