Fans almost always seem to hold their breath when a player goes airborne. A ton of things can, and have, gone wrong. Things were no different during the Tennessee vs. Mississippi State game when Vols quarterback Brian Maurer went airborne on a scramble and landed square on his head.

What's amazing is that Maurer was able to get up immediately, and stay in the game before eventually being checked out in the medical tent. Tennessee's season has most certainly been one to forget for fans thus far, as the team already has four losses on the young season. Now Volunteers fans will have to hope that Jarrett Guarantano can hold on for dear life, and perhaps slide should he choose to risk injury and scramble.
