The NBA Finals may be going on between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors, but there's plenty of free agency buzz circulating around the league. One of the biggest question marks this offseason is point guard Kyrie Irving, who is expected to part ways with the Boston Celtics. We can add more fuel to that fire, as ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has heard Irving plans to commit to the Brooklyn Nets.

While many believe this is just Smith presenting a hot take to garner clicks and attention, that's not that case. SNY's Anthony Puccio reported on a mutual interest between Irving and the Nets on May 25.

The popular belief was that Irving would join the New York Knicks with Kevin Durant. Interestingly enough, Smith hears that if the Warriors win the Finals, Durant will leave for free agency. But if they lose, Durant will stay put in the Bay Area.

Irving won't officially make his decision until June 30, but we can now put Brooklyn as a serious destination for the point guard this offseason.
