Lots of tears were shed at Kobe and Gigi Bryant's public memorial on Monday, but lots of well-needed laughs were shared, as well. Specifically, Shaquille O'Neal, Bryant's teammate from 1996-2004, got the crowd going in style when he stepped to the podium and told the mourning crowd a story that perfectly embodies Bryant during his playing days.

O'Neal shared a story of when he told Bryant that there was no I in team, and Bryant responded, "I know, but there's an M E in that motherf***er." The crowd erupted into some much-needed laughs.

Since the tragic accident on Jan. 26 that included the Bryants and seven other passengers, too many tears have been shed, and Shaq sharing such an amusing story amid disaster is refreshing.

Similarly, when Michael Jordan spoke about Bryant and started crying, he joked about having to see another crying Jordan meme for the next few years.

Monday was a day in which everyone, including players, executives, and fans, got to gather in memory of the two Bryants who perished on that tragic day. O'Neal letting us laugh at a great memory of Kobe's individualistic greatness was a much-needed moment of levity.
