VIDEO: Saskatchewan Loses to Winnipeg in CFL Western Final After QB Hits the Uprights on Last Play
By Karl Rasmussen

While the NFL typically dominates the highlight reel on Sunday, doesn't mean there isn't some crazy action occurring north of the border in the CFL. In the CFL Western Final, the Saskatchewan Roughriders came up just short against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in a way that's uniquely Canadian. On the final play of the game, Roughriders QB Cody Fajardo attempted to throw a game-tying touchdown in the end zone, but it deflected off the uprights and fell incomplete.

Being that this is the CFL, the goal posts are at the front of the end zone, which is the only reason this was even a possibility.
After the play, Fajardo was seen laying face-down on the ground, distraught over the deflected pass and his team taking the heartbreaking loss.
Chin up, though, kid! You helped ensure the end of a monster title drought, no matter who emerges victorious in the final.
The two teams with the longest Grey Cup droughts in the CFL will meet next Sunday in Calgary. One of them is guaranteed to end. Hamilton (1999) vs Winnipeg (1990). #wfp

Serendipitous, we guess.
