VIDEO: Russell Martin Launches Solo Shot as Dodgers Break Franchise Single-Season Home Run Record
By Parker White

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers tied the franchise's single-season home run record, thanks to a David Freese home run in the first inning. Well, the record was shattered just two innings later when Russell Martin cracked an opposite field blast off Diamondbacks' starter Alex Young.

That's 236 home runs on the season to break the record, and now they have a month left to pad this impressive accomplishment.
This is the third consecutive season where the Dodgers' offense has broken the franchise home run mark, and after beating the previous record by 14 long balls last year, you can bet they'll pad this by double digits, once again.

Freese's homer was his 10th of the year, making him the 10th player on the Dodgers with double digit home runs on the season.
With power like that coming from virtually every hitter in the clubhouse, it's no wonder they're out here setting records while pacing the majors in wins.
