While a majority of sports fans' eyes were on World Series Game 7 between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals, they missed the epitome of a shootout between their NBA counterparts, the Wizards and Rockets. At the conclusion of regulation, the Rockets defeated the Wizards by a ridiculous score of 159-158! FIFTY-NINE of those Houston points came from James Harden, who completely took control and put the Wiz to bed.

Harden went 18-of-32 from the floor, while shooting 42.9% (6-of-14 attempts) from behind the arc. The Beard also recorded nine assists and three rebounds in 37 minutes of game action.

While everyone focuses on Harden's 59 points, Wizards guard Bradley Beal had himself a day as well, scoring 46 points (14-of-20), dishing out eight assists and and grabbing six rebounds.

Those 159 points for the Rockets are a franchise record while the Wiz set an organizational mark of their own with 20 3-pointers. Oh yeah, and this was the third-highest scoring game in regulation ever!

To say this was a back-and-forth affair wouldn't be doing it justice. We already have an epic offensive showdown just weeks into the season.
