A rather bizarre exchange between two NFL players has emerged in the wake of Week 14. It transpired in Jacksonville, as Philip Rivers connected with Austin Ekeler on an 84-yard touchdown to extend the Chargers lead. Rivers ended up on the turf due to a clean hit by Jaguars defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue, who responded by helping the vet gunslinger up. Rivers accepted his gesture, but was anything but grateful as he proceeded to barbarically howl in Ngakoue's ear.

What on earth is Rivers doing here? We understand he's one of the more animated individuals in the game, but talking (or screaming) smack in the ear of a player who admirably extended a hand to help him is borderline petulant.

The apology was commendable, but it was almost required after the antics Rivers pulled.
