Is this Oracle Park or Williamsport? Pete Alonso's gotten off to a rough post All-Star Break start after dominating the Home Run Derby, with Mickey Callaway even deciding to keep his young star out of the lineup on Saturday--or so we thought. Callaway never said anything about pinch hitting, and Alonso delivered an absolute bomb to Triples' Alley.
Just a casual 444 feet, which is nothing new for Alonso who is fresh off a 470-foot blast at Target Field just a few days ago. Sure, his batting average has taken a dip since his heroics in Cleveland, but Alonso is still very clearly leading the NL Rookie of the Year race and is about the only reason to watch the Mets right now.
Give it up for the real King of Queens.
