Alonso is now 6-18 in his last 24 at bats dating back to May 24 against the Detroit Tigers, with 5 of those hits going for extra bases. For the season, he already has 30 extra-basers to his name.

The Mets overall have been as good as Alonso has been lately, with his hot streak coming as the Flushing boys have seven of their last nine games. Before that, however, New York had lost five straight, including having been swept by the Miami Marlins. The rookie was 2-15 during that stretch.
Now, the tables have turned. And that's good news for Mickey Callaway's team.
