VIDEO: Panthers' Eric Reid Delivers Brutal Late Hit to the Head of Patriots TE Ben Watson
By Scott Rogust

Thursday's Week 3 preseason matchup between the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots got a bit heated. Shortly after Panthers quarterback Cam Newton left the game with a foot injury, the Patriots lost starting tight end Ben Watson. Tom Brady found Watson open for a decent gain, and as he was brought down by two Panthers players, safety Eric Reid came in with a nasty late hit that connected with Watson's head.

Fortunately, Watson left the field under his own power, but this was an incredibly scary hit delivered by Reid.
Ironically, the two were not on the same page following Reid's critical comments about the NFL Player's Coalition and rapper Jay-Z's new partnership with the NFL, in which Watson retaliated on Twitter.

There appeared to be no bad blood on the hit, as Reid approached Watson to check on his well being, as he sat on the turf.

While there appeared to be no hard feelings on the field, this was still a dangerous hit from Reid which could result in repercussions from the league.
