VIDEO: Old David Ross Interview Proves Why He's a Perfect Manager for Current Cubs Clubhouse
By Chris Russo

David Ross didn't even realize he was interviewing for the Chicago Cubs managerial position well before they considered him. This week, it was reported 'Grandpa Rossy' will be the team's new skipper, and the video below showcases exactly why he's the right man for the job:

“It’s such a negative game. There’s a lot of negative in it. The more we are around each other and lift each other up, the better we are going to be.”

After the Cubs hired Ross to replace Joe Maddon as their manager, an interview between Ross and baseball writer Jayson Stark surfaced.
Because of the picture of Ross' famous home run in his final at-bat (in the World Series), the interview definitely dates sometime in 2016 or later. Watching the video just reminds you of how good a teammate and mentor Ross was, especially when he helped the Cubs to their first championship in 108 years.
He is just so positive and encouraging that you could almost see him coaching little league, but he'll also be a perfect fit for the Cubs organization.
It was a honor having the opportunity to play for Joe Maddon and winning a Championship with him during one of the greatest runs in the history of the Chicago Cubs. I learned a tremendous amount from him and wish him continued success in this game. pic.twitter.com/xr0OLFSTiZ
