VIDEO: Ohio Recovers Miracle Onside Kick That Bounces Off Kent State Player's Helmet
By Parker White

Every kicker, whether they be in high school, college or the pros, needs to pay attention to this. Before the half between Ohio and Kent State, Ohio punter Michael Farkas was lined up for the kickoff and booted the ball off the helmet of a Kent State special teams player, resulting in a wild onside kick recovery. We're really not sure whether he meant to do this, but it worked out perfectly for Ohio.

Ohio gets the ball back on one of the craziest kickoffs you'll ever see. pic.twitter.com/WPAWoSeHo5
They lined up as if they were about to send the ball deep before halftime, but instead ended up recovering the onside kick.
There's absolutely nothing the Kent State player could've done to avoid the ball as it drilled off his helmet.

Maybe we'll see more teams use this method as an attempt to recover onside kicks, as it was pretty effective here.
