VIDEO: Notre Dame Runs In 3-Yard TD on First Drive and Louisville Answers to Even the Score

Ian Book and No. 9 Notre Dame wasted no time slicing through Scott Satterfield and Louisville's defense. Jahmir Smith, filling in at running back for the departed Dexter Williams, plunged in from three yards out to give the Irish a quick 7-0 lead.

When the Bobby Petrino-led Cardinals would have folded and given up, Jawon Pass buckled down and led Louisville on a long touchdown drive. Pass ironically ran for 32 yards on that first drive, as the Cardinals had a ground game for the first time since Lamar Jackson.

Pass ran it in on their first drive from 10 yards, tying the game at 7-7 and getting the home crowd riled up for the first time in forever.

Pass threw more picks than touchdowns last year, but is already looking like a much more confident player and passer in Year 2. There is still a lot of time left, but Satterfield is already improving this team.
