VIDEO: Noah Syndergaard's NSFW Comments Defending Mickey Callaway Won't Save Him

Even after limping through a three-game sweep at the hands of the worst team in baseball, the Miami Marlins, New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway has still apparently not lost his locker room. Starter Noah Syndergaard, who has seen his ERA balloon to 4.50 despite still packing a 100 mph fastball, even had a profanity-laced response to rumors that Callaway is destined for the axe.

It would take a lot for a player to throw his manager under the bus, but Callaway is as close to a dead man walking as there is in the league. Considering the extent of the 20-25 Mets' malaise, he's got to be.

From pitchers underperforming to hitters not hustling to some baffling strategic decisions, Callaway's firing is a stern possibility. The only question is how soon is too soon for GM Brodie Van Wagenen to make the call.

When the local media turns its guns on you, you're finished-- especially in New York. With the tsunami of hate coming Callway's way -- nearly all of it justified -- Not even Thor can save his manager from getting a pink slip.
