VIDEO: NHL Editing Huge Missed Call Out of Blues' Game-Winning Goal is Hilarious

The St. Louis Blues were able to take a 3-2 series lead in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Boston Bruins after winning Game 5 by a score of 2-1. Bruins fans will argue 'til they're Blue in the face that St. Louis won the game due to a controversial missed penalty call after Tyler Bozak hit Noel Acciari in the back of his knee, freeing up David Perron to score seconds later and putting the Blues out of reach. Yet, this hit was conveniently edited out of the NHL's depiction of events.

Hey, look at that guy on the ground! Wonder how he got there?

On the NHL's Twitter page, the play is framed to look clean. You just catch just a glimpse of Acciari dropping to the floor at the beginning of the clip, but you do not see the actual trip itself. Here is what actually happened, directly in front of a ref:

After St. Louis was up 2-0 with 9:24 to play, the Bruins were in too deep of a hole to climb out of. Boston did manage to add another goal late a few minutes later thanks to Jake DeBrusk, but it turns out there wasn't enough time left on the clock to mount a comeback.

The trip was wrong, but the NHL trying to cover up their officials' mistakes is outright shameful. You may remember they did something similar when St. Louis fell last round on a blatant hand pass.

Now it's time to see if the B's can respond like the Blues and move past the league's chicanery.
