VIDEO: New Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu Says Tom Brady Jokingly Offered Him No. 12

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady apparently wasn't too sentimental about his old No. 12, and was willing to give it away to a prized new addition.

Mohamed Sanu, recently acquired in a trade with the Falcons, just touched down in Massachuetts and was "offered" Brady's No. 12. Sanu, knowing what happens up north if you badmouth Brady, respectfully turned down his offer.

Sanu, traded for a second-round pick, will instead wear No. 14.

Sanu, who was picked in the third round of the 2012 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, has split his nine-year NFL career nearly equally between the Bengals and Falcons. He has recorded 4,300 receiving yards, including a career-high 838 last year, and 25 touchdowns.

Sanu, also famous for his cannon arm, has completed seven of eight passes for four touchdowns in the pros, and could add another dimension to the Patriots offense with that arm.

This was not the most serious of gestures from Brady, but it certainly went a long way toward getting Sanu acclimated in New England and making him feel at home.
