The Minnesota Twins have been hitting home runs like Oprah Winfrey giving out gifts to her studio audience: at an abundantly high rate. One of the main "perpetrators" was Nelson Cruz, who hit a home run in each of the past three games for Minnesota. On Thursday night, Cruz matched that number. It all started off in the top of the first inning, where he took Chicago White Sox starter Lucas Giolito to deep left field, all the way to the concession stands to put the Twins on the board first.

In Cruz's next at-bat, he took yet another Giolito pitch deep, this time to dead-center field to give the Twins a 3-1 lead.

"Boomstick" wasn't done decimating Giolito in the Southside of the Windy City. In the top of the fifth, Cruz hit a two-run bomb to right-center field to extend Minnesota's lead to 7-1.

No, you're not dreaming or seeing things. Nelson Cruz hit three home runs by the fifth inning. Now you know why the Minnesota Twins have named themselves the "Bomba Squad."
