VIDEO: NBC Should Lose Sunday Night Football After Opening Season With No Collinsworth Slide
By Michael Luciano

As stupid as it sounds when you say it out loud, the Cris Collinsworth slide after an Al Michaels soliloquy on Sunday Night Football has become a national institution. However, to the surprise of a nation of puzzled onlookers watching the 2019 Hall of Fame game between the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons, the Collinsworth slide was absent, as the camera simply cut to the duo in the booth.

An 11th season for the duo of @CollinsworthPFF and Al Michaels! pic.twitter.com/LDKYT5rxEG
And with that, a nation mourns.
Even though it's a preseason game on a Thursday, Michaels and Collinsworth have surpassed Monday Night Football as the premier game of the week. With such lofty expectations, you can't go rogue and leave fans livid over the absence of the slide.

Hopefully the beloved slide will return for the regular season and is just absent for some extra preseason rest. It would be an absolute travesty if NBC pulled the plug on it.
