VIDEO: MLB Drops Overhead Clip of Ballpark Construction for Yankees-White Sox 'Field of Dreams' Game
By Michael Luciano

The MLB announced one of the coolest exhibition games in recent memory when they revealed the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox would play a game at the field in Iowa where the movie "Field of Dreams" was shot. In order to wet fan's beaks for the upcoming game next August, the league dropped a clip showing the construction of a new ballpark right next to the original field.

The original field used in the movie has dimensions better suited for a Little League game than one with sluggers like Aaron Judge in it, so a brand new one with more bells and whistles as well as passable dimensions for an MLB game is in the works.
It's a cool homage to one of the best sports movies ever and to a Midwest region that passionately supports the game, but lacks a lot of professional teams.

As the old saying goes, "If you build it, they will come." Baseball is building it, and, a year from today, the Yankees and White Sox are coming.
