VIDEO: Mel Kiper Jr. Still Doesn't Think Jalen Hurts is Close to a 1st Rounder

Mel Kiper Jr. is known for his college football analysis and breakdowns but is his most recent stance a bit too farfetched?

Despite putting together a season worthy of Heisman Trophy consideration for the Oklahoma Sooners, Kiper Jr. believes that Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts is nowhere near worthy of a first-round pick in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft.

While Hurts had performed well at Alabama before being shown up by Tua Tagovailoa in the 2018 CFP National Championship game, his transfer to Oklahoma and quarterback whisperer Lincoln Riley have opened the eyes of NFL scouts.

Hurts has completed nearly 74 percent of his passes while adding 21 touchdowns and three interceptions on his way to leading Oklahoma to a ninth spot in the College Football Playoff Committee's rankings. Yet, according to Kiper, Hurts can be seen as an early Day 3 selection because of the improvement in his passing that he has seen at the University of Oklahoma under Riley.

Day 3? Okay, Mel, we'll take the under.
