VIDEO: Maximum Security Wins Haskell Invitational and Earns Spot in Breeders' Cup Classic
By Mark Powell

The Shore's Greatest Stretch featured the Nation's best horse, at least for a year. Despite the controversy surrounding Maximum Security's Kentucky Derby defeat via a rarely-enforced rule, the horse stepped into the starting gate on a Saturday scorcher with a chance to earn his way into the Breeders' Cup Classic. Despite the conditions causing some controversy with animal advocacy groups leading up to the event, Maximum Security ran an incredible race, securing its position in the Early November stakes.

To recover from such heartbreak at the Derby and run such a flawless race months later in this summer heat speaks to the training and conditioning from the Maximum Security team, led by veteran trainer Jason Servis.
