VIDEO: Luke Voit Slugs 2-Run Shot off Matt Boyd to Give Yankees 1st-Inning Lead Over Tigers

Here's a sight Yankee fans will surely be ecstatic to witness. After Luke Voit was activated from the IL, the first baseman showed some struggles at the dish. In nine games, Voit had only driven in one RBI, and hadn't left the yard. Well, he changed that tune quickly on Thursday, as in his first at-bat of the doubleheader against the Tigers, Voit unleashed a huge two-run shot to center field.

That was an absolute bomb, and it's encouraging to see the slugger rediscovering his power at the plate as the regular season winds down. He's now up to 20 homers on the year.

The ball traveled 423.7 feet off the bat at an exit velocity of nearly 110 mph. So yeah, it's safe to say he smoked that pitch.
