VIDEO: Luke Voit Mashes Solo Blast to Keep Good Vibes Rolling in Baltimore
By Parker White

Where would the New York Yankees be without Luke Voit and his power bat? He's become a totally different player since coming to the team last summer, and on Thursday, he extended the Yankee lead with a solo blast to center field, making it a 5-1 game over the Baltimore Orioles. Take a look:

This game was about to get wild, ending 6-5 in the Yankees' favor on a bases-loaded walk, but they would've been very much in trouble without Voit's insurance.
This was Voit's 12th homer of the season, which is tied with Gleyber Torres for the second-most on the team.

Voit has been so great...does any Yankee fan even think about Greg Bird anymore? The narrative that Bird was the first baseman of the future vanished once Voit was added to this team and inserted into the lineup. I'd say it's working out.
