The Chicago White Sox handed out a $50 million contract to Cuban slugger Luis Robert this offseason even though he has never played in a major league game. He has been a top prospect in the organization since signing in 2017 and is set to be on the team to open the 2020 season. The hard-hitting outfielder was also recently shown putting on a show by mashing home runs as part of his preparation for the season.

It is easy to forget Robert is only 22 years old. He had 32 combined home runs in the minors last season and White Sox fans have to be thrilled about his arrival in MLB. Robert joining the lineup is another reason why the team is a dark horse contender to win the AL Central during the shortened season.

The slugger is the top prospect in the White Sox organization and the video of him at batting practice offers a glimpse into the hype. Robert is also a sneaky AL Rookie of the Year candidate to keep an eye on, given the season goes according to plan.
