VIDEO: Likely MLB Draft No. 1 Pick Adley Rutschman Gets Intentionally Walked With Bases Loaded

The College World Series is a dangerous game, and in order to make the final field, you have to conquer a wild set of regionals and sub-tournaments. Last year's national champions, the Oregon State Beavers, brought back stud catcher Adley Rutschman, and have managed to maintain their position in the game despite losing top MLB prospects like Trevor Larnach. This season, OSU still enters the dance ranked 16th, and Rutschman stands out as the team's Barry Bonds equivalent. Don't believe us? The Cincinnati Bearcats WALKED Rutschman with the bases loaded last night, wanting no part of the likely soon-to-be Baltimore Oriole.

The best part? The strategy...ultimately worked. Cincinnati took the game 7-6, sending OSU to the loser's bracket. However, it didn't pay off in the moment; Oregon State rallied to take a 6-5 lead in this seventh inning, before the Bearcats somehow plated single runs in the eighth and ninth to stun the champs.

We'll chalk this up as a win.
