VIDEO: Kyle Schwarber Blasts 1st Pitch From Ivan Nova Out of Ballpark in Crosstown Classic
By Michael Luciano

Well, that could have gone better. While I'm sure Ivan Nova and the Chicago White Sox wanted to emphatically announce that they're not to be trifled with in the Crosstown Classic against their hated rival Cubs, Kyle Schwarber had other ideas. Schwarber knocked the very first pitch of the game from Nova into the left field bleachers, giving the North Siders a 1-0 lead.

Schwarber's laser beam to left was his 16th home run of the season. Maybe don't groove a 91 MPH fastball right down Broadway, Ivan?

White the Cubs-White Sox rivalry has seen a lot over the years, it had never seen a home run on the first pitch of the game until Schwarber's solo jack.

The White Sox might have come into this game with tons of momentum, but the Cubs were quick to remind them who the best team in Chicago is, at least for the moment.
