VIDEO: Justin Turner Crushes Solo Shot After Padres Scoreboard Compares Him to Flyers' Mascot Gritty
By Daniel Marcillo

The Padres' scoreboard operator made some jokes at the expense of Justin Turner and he responded in the only way he knew how. After the Padres' scoreboard compared him to the Philadelphia Flyers' mascot, Gritty, Turner stepped up to the dish and swatted a solo shot off Eric Lauer.

Who knows if Turner actually paid attention to the Gritty comparison, but it is an odd coincidence that he responded like that in the same at-bat. He also made fans forget about the strikeout he had in the first inning.
The Padres had a special fun fact for Justin Turner. Then he homered. 1-0, Dodgers. pic.twitter.com/V911oM2fMZ

We are sure there is no way Gritty could hit a baseball like this.
Turner parked a ball, which may have clipped a few rain clouds in the sky, into the left field seats to get the Dodgers on the board against Eric Lauer. Safe to say Justin Turner will not be made fun of in San Diego again.
