VIDEO: Josh Donaldson Halts the Nationals' Comeback With Walk-off Base Knock off Fernando Rodney

The Atlanta Braves were in prime position to seal the victory entering the ninth inning, holding a 3-1 lead when Luke Jackson stepped to the hill. Unfortunately the closer blew the save, surrendering a two-run jack to Victor Robles. Well, the Braves were not about to let this one get to extras, and after loading up the bases, Josh Donaldson sent home the game-winning run with a deep fly ball into center field.

The Bringer of Rain brought the W tonight in Atlanta, as the SunTrust Park crowd was sent home happy. Fernando Rodney surrendered the walk-off base knock without recording an out in the bottom of the ninth.

The Nationals' bullpen issues continue, while the Braves, now at 59-40, extended their lead in the NL East to 6.5 games.

Jackson will be thanking JD for preventing him from ending up in the loss column tonight!
