By Sean Facey

2019 may have featured a horrific collapse and no postseason baseball for the Chicago Cubs, but that doesn't mean fans can't relive the good times. In fact, Friday marks the three-year anniversary of the Cubs' improbable ninth-inning comeback against the San Francisco Giants to help clinch a spot in the NLCS.
Three years ago today, the Cubs rallied from behind in the top of the 9th inning scoring 4 runs to beat the Giants and clinch their NLCS ticket.

It was a daring comeback on the part of the Cubs. Down 5-2 entering the inning, they managed to push across four runs against the Giants' bullpen, with the deciding run coming home on a Javier Baez single off Will Smith.
The four-run explosion was seemingly a sign that it was the Cubs' year to end their infamous curse. They entered the inning with just a 3% chance of winning the game, according to Baseball-Reference. By the end, it was at 81%. They willed themselves to victory and into the next round of the playoffs.

Sometimes baseball doesn't go as planned. The Cubs have drawn the short end of the stick over the past couple of years, but 2016 will live in infamy.
