Kemba Walker is arguably the best guard to ever come through the Charlotte Hornets franchise, right? It hasn't even been a full offseason since Walker departed the city in search of greener pastures in Boston, but it looks like the Hornets are already moving on. And that started by giving away Walker's jersey number-- to none other than North Carolina native J. Cole.

Yep, the Hornets presented the rapper with a custom No. 15 jersey with his name on the back while Cole was attending a team practice.

I guess this is better than giving Kemba's number away to some undrafted rookie trying to make an impression in training camp. But still, there were plenty of other options than the No. 15.

Cole was a talented high school basketball player, and even tried out for the St. John's team as a sophomore walk-on, but ultimately didn't end up on the team. He wore No. 15 in high school, which is why the Hornets presented it to him at practice, but this will naturally be connected to Walker's departure.

Kemba probably won't pay much attention to this exchange considering his sights will be set on winning a championship in Boston, while the Hornets will be more focused on winning the NBA Draft Lottery.
