The last time the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers squared off in the World Series was back in 1981, with LA winning the series in six games. Could this weekend bring us a preview of this year's Fall Classic between two of the premier franchises in the sport? How does that not fire you up?
The Yankees and Dodgers have met in the World Series 11 times, which is the most in MLB history. Obviously, a lot can happen between now and when the World Series rolls around, but we are talking about the top two records in baseball thus far.
It's fair to speculate a little bit.

One thing is for sure: MLB is hoping they get this signature matchup once again come the fall. There are stars littered all over each roster, and it would bring great theater between two teams that played in close proximity of each other, once upon a time.
It's just a shame we'll be getting Players' Weekend jerseys instead of their classic duds.
