VIDEO: Disturbing Footage of Mark Rypien's Wife Following Alleged Domestic Dispute Emerges

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Mark Rypien was arrested for domestic violence after an altercation with his wife Danielle. Rypien claims that he "knocked the wind out of her" after she was covering his eyes when he was driving. A video shot on June 30, the day of the incident, and released by TMZ shows Danielle crawling away from the car before collapsing on a patch of grass.

Rypien was released without bail and is due in court on July 31. He has pled not guilty.

Danielle did not want to press charges, even asking officers, "What do I have to say so that you arrest me and not him?" She and Mark also believe that the former quarterback, a lead plaintiff in a group of ex-players who won a CTE lawsuit against the NFL in 2013, suffers from a degenerative brain condition.

The uncle of Denver Broncos quarterback Brett Rypien, Mark was a former sixth-round pick out of Washington State. Rypien played for Joe Gibbs and the Redskins for six years, making two Pro Bowls while throwing for 18,473 yards and 115 touchdowns. Rypien won two Super Bowls, one as a starter, and a Super Bowl MVP award in 1991.

However, his legacy could be tarnished significantly if he is found guilty of what he has been accused of.
