VIDEO: Deshaun Watson Reveals Inspiration for Trick Play Option TD vs Patriots on Sunday Night Football

As a Patriots fan, trick plays have become extremely triggering for me. Well, the origins of the play have been revealed by the man who scored on the play, Deshaun Watson. It turns out, that the play was proposed by Watson himself, inspired from a similar sequence run by the Chicago Bears.
Deshaun Watson on the trick play: "I think it was Chicago that did it ... me and AJ McCarron were looking at it, watching film one day. And we were like actually we can probably run that ... and then Hop saw it and Hop, of course he's like 'let's do it let's do it!'" pic.twitter.com/EgpoR7ykNy

Watson explained that he and AJ McCarron saw the play while studying film of the Bears and pondered as to whether they could pull it off. DeAndre Hopkins then saw the play as well, and excitedly pushed for them to utilize it in game.
It was an interesting play to say the least, as Hopkins looked to be running directly into a mass of Patriot defenders before pitching the ball to Watson. Yet, as we all know, it worked wonders and helped seal the victory for the Texans.

The Texans had previously lost their last eight games against the Patriots, so this victory could go a long way towards reestablishing them as a team to watch in the AFC.
Perhaps, we will see more trick plays like this one in the near future from the current AFC South leaders.
