VIDEO: Danny Jansen Homers off Rangers' Jeff Mathis in Catcher-on-Catcher Crime
By Karl Rasmussen

The Texas Rangers were in the midst of an absolute blowout against the Blue Jays when they decided to say wave the white flag, putting backup catcher Jeff Mathis on the mound to pitch. Well, in a rare catcher vs catcher matchup at the plate, Jays' backstop Danny Jansen launched a home run off Mathis, further running up the score in Toronto's favor.

Mathis' pitch wasn't a pretty one by any stretch -- an 80 mph meatball at the top of the strike zone is almost bound to find the seats.
Jansen drove in the 19th run of the game for the Jays with this two-run blast, as the Rangers had no answers for the prolific Toronto offense.
