VIDEO: Cubs LHP Brad Wieck Makes Kyle Seager Look Ridiculous With Filthy Curveball
By Michael Luciano

Chicago Cubs lefty reliever Brad Wieck, who is trying to latch onto the Cubs roster after being released by San Diego, made a solid first impression on manager Joe Maddon, as he uncorked a ridiculous curveball that made Seattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager duck and shield his body. The joke was on Seager, however, as his slow curve floated right down the middle of the plate.

Wieck was released by the Padres after posting a 6.57 ERA in 30 games. His Cubs tenure has already gotten off to a much better start, as he has thrown two scoreless innings in a Chicago uniform.
Given his high release point and spin rate, Wieck might have a solid breaking pitch if he can figure out how to consistently locate it.
Brad Wieck is so, so nasty.

That high release point, with that spin action, and that high effort delivery is scary.
Seager might normally be one of the more consistent at-bats in the AL West and is rarely embarrassed, but he's going to have to take his lumps after this showing.
