VIDEO: Cris Collinsworth Makes Rough Mistake About Dak Prescott and His Mom on Sunday Night Football
By Scott Rogust

When it comes to Dallas Cowboys games, announcers have a go-to talking point, and that's the contract negotiations between the organization and quarterback Dak Prescott. In the second quarter of Dallas' game against the Minnesota Vikings, Sunday Night Football commentator Cris Collinsworth brought up the incoming financial situation revolving around Prescott and his eventual payday. During that, Collinsworth mentioned that the Cowboys signal caller bought a house for his mother, Peggy, after getting an NFL paycheck. The thing is, as all Cowboys fans know, Prescott's mom passed away from cancer back in 2013, when Dak was a sophomore at Mississippi State, long before he ever took a snap for the Cowboys.

Yikes.
This is a huge part of Prescott's narrative, and a pretty big whiff from the veteran announcer.
Later on in the broadcast, Collinsworth apologized for the comment he made, saying he meant no ill-will towards the relationship between Prescott and his mother. Instead, he was trying to speak about how the signal caller always dreamed of buying his mother a house when he made it to the league, but obviously didn't get to.

A brutal mistake from Collinsworth, who caught the error and expressed regret.
