The 2019 BBWAA Awards concluded on Thursday night, as the MVP of both the American and National Leagues were revealed. Los Angeles Dodgers fans were thrilled to find out that star Cody Bellinger emerged victorious over Christian Yelich and Anthony Rendon to nab the NL MVP honors. As with any winner, Bellinger was interviewed by MLB Network to get his immediate reaction. The Dodgers star was clearly emotional, simply saying "this is what you dream of" as he choked up.

Who's cutting up the onions?

Prior to his interview, Bellinger was seen celebrating with his family, culminating in him hugging his father and former MLB player, Clay. That's what Cody attributed to him tearing up on camera.

Bellinger is the first Dodgers position player to win the MVP award since Kirk Gibson did so back in 1988. He also joins Jackie Robinson and Don Newcombe as the only Dodgers in history to win Rookie of the Year and NL MVP.

Cody Bellinger dreamed of this moment as a child, and now he's living it.
