VIDEO: Clip of Babe Laufenberg's Son Practicing Football Weeks Before His Death is Heartbreaking
By Sean Facey

The death of former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Babe Laufenberg's son, Luke, rocked the football community to the core on Thursday. Luke, who lost a long and hard-fought battle with Leukemia, was a bright light, especially for the Cowboys. He loved football just as much as his father did, and that's what makes this clip of him practicing just weeks before his passing so difficult to watch.
It was 98 degrees on July 10. Luke had lifted weights and was working on his routes. I loved coaching him. Receptive to coaching. Two days later, he was told he had 2-8 weeks to live. All he wanted in life was to play football. TY @UTEPAthletics @UTEPFB pic.twitter.com/ygmrRSzlgd

Luke played football anytime he could, even in near triple-digit heat as he does in the video with his father. He was a walk-on at Texas A&M, he played at Mesa Community College, and he was preparing to play at UTEP this year.
It's absolutely heartbreaking that his lfie was cut tragically short.
We lost a Warrior today.

His story was and is one of courage and passion. Luke loved football, and it's moments like these that serve as a reminder of how important one's dedication to what they love outweighs everything.
