This past January, the St. Louis Blues were in last place in the entire NHL. Six months later, the Blues played the role of underdog and defeated the Boston Bruins in seven games to win the franchise's first-ever Stanley Cup. Fast forward to Wednesday night, and the Blues celebrated their championship by hoisting the official banner and skating around the ice of the Enterprise Center prior to their regular season opener against the Washington Capitals.

After captain Alex Pietrangelo skated a lap with Lord Stanley's Cup, the entire Blues team looked high above the rafters to see their official championship banner raised.

Just like the Cup win itself, the ceremonial raising of the banner will be something Blues players and the passionate fanbase will never forget.

Now lies the true challenge for the St. Louis Blues, and that's to successfully defend their championship.
