VIDEO: Ben Roethlisberger Says He Wishes He Didn't Call Out Antonio Brown Last Year

This is the definition of too little, too late. Ben Roethlisberger's fallout with Antonio Brown was caused by the veteran QB's inability to deal with a diva wide receiver, and AB's subsequent personality meltdown. Big Ben has long held his radio show on 93.7 in Pittsburgh (and might not even get rid of it this year!), and it came back to bite him after Roethlisberger called Brown out for route-running in the days following an embarrassing Steelers loss to Oakland. Now, Roethlisberger has regrets about the way he handled the situation.

Brown is petty and childlike by nature, but the Steelers had managed to keep that side of him under wraps for years. Yet, Roethlisberger's comments and subsequent actions by Brown spurred a complete and total meltdown of the relationship, in which AB publicly shamed the Steelers into trading him. It worked, and the Raiders are now dealing with the consequences of said deal.

Still, there's no arguing Pittsburgh was more dangerous with Brown on the field. Roethlisberger and Brown delivered an unrivaled level of trust on the gridiron, and that was broken by a simple yet unnecessary criticism given by Big Ben on the airwaves.

There is a time and place to have this conversation, and it's not on a local radio show when the other party doesn't even have the opportunity to answer. Roethlisberger's comments weren't completely to blame for Brown's outburst, but they were a catalyst.
