VIDEO: Baylor Kicker John Mayers Drills Game-Winner for Team's First Made Field Goal of Season
By Ryan Flores

It's hard to believe that the Baylor Bears were 3-0 on the season without making a single field goal prior to Saturday's game. That all changed when Baylor desperately needed freshman kicker John Mayers to nail a 38-yard field goal to win the game over Iowa State, which he promptly delivered.

Mayers had attempted just one field goal prior to Saturday's matchup, which was a miss against Rice University. Notching your first career field goal in a clutch situation has to be an amazing feeling, and they'll be partying tonight in Waco.
